Bliss Wakeboard Clinics
was started in August 2000. Its owners grew up in Muskoka and spent all their
summers around water sports. They have successfully competed
on the Ontario wakeboarding circuit for many years and have developed
a large number of contacts within the industry.
Initially Bliss started
as a part-time venture with both Dan and Kurt providing wakeboard
instruction in the evenings after their jobs working at water
sports for local resorts. This
provided an insight into the demand for local wakeboard instruction
that led to Dan and Kurt establishing "Bliss Wakeboarding
Clinics Limited" in the spring of 2001. The company started
to build its list of many loyal customers. Most of the
customers in this first year were cottagers with a few tourists
from local resorts. Additionally, services were provided to the
recreation program of the Town of Huntsville with instruction
to its day camp in Port Sydney.
Business increased significantly in the summer
of 2002. Many of their initial cottaging customers returned,
new cottage customers were established, and business increased
from tourists staying at local resorts. Once again, service was
provided to the Town of Huntsville and its day camp in Port Sydney.
As well, Bliss obtained a contract to provide daily wakeboard
instruction to a local camp.
In the summer of 2003
Bliss Wakeboarding Clinics Ltd. established a new venture with
Delta Grandview Resort. In the summer of 2006 Bliss established another contract with Hidden Valley Resort. With the new contract, Bliss continues to grow rapidly and 2007 will be no exception.
Over the past 8 years
Bliss Wakeboard Clinics has grown rapidly to become a significant provider of
wakeboard and water-ski instruction in Muskoka.. We have
developed a unique service. Running our company with integrity
and providing personal, one-on-one expert instruction has contributed
to making Bliss the best water-sports provider in Muskoka. We
run our business with heart, determination and passion. Bliss
has created the optimal operation by sitting down and listening
to the ideas of others, whether it's the direction from the team,
the altered vision of the Militia, the perspective of a young
student or the opinions of wakeboard shop owners.
Planning for year 9 of operation of Bliss
Wakeboarding includes maintaining its "from the cottage dock" business;
providing for significantly expanded instruction to the local camp
it has been dealing with, continuing it's water sport provision
for Hidden Valley Resort, adding a new progressive learning program
for kids, providing optional video and still photography.
